AH: Merle

I wrote way too much about her, I need to cut it down e___e' ^{but whereeee?! OTL}



I don't know if my character actually follow the guidelines - I based her on the older myths about selkies, before some romantic idiots hadn't sugarcoated the myth - selkies used to be feared creatures,, I also twisted the myth a bit, maybe she won't get accepted, my handwriting suxx... sobs _{,and the world is going to end and stuff!}

If she doesn't get accepted, at least I made up a new character that I like. This is also the first time ever, that I didn't have a seperate lineart layer - so she was... intersting to draw.

Background (I tried to make it short): Merle shed her seal skin to be the lover of a human male. But Merle longed for the ocean and her lover could feel it. Therefore he stole her selkie skin, split it in two and hid them two different places, forcing Merle to be his wife. After a lot of things happened he ended up burning one half of her true skin in front of her. But when her half of her selkie skin was suddenly gone, something changed. She was free, forgetting something of her past self and gaining 'human' insanity. And we all know that mythical creatures tend to be frightening creatures when they are mad...

Even she doesn't know how old she was as a selkie, before she met her love, because when her skin was burned her brain partly 'restarted', therefore her mental age is only about the eighteen.

Likes: books, seals <3(!), collecting old or/and interesting things, learning.
Dislike: the ocean and water in general, the smell of tobacco smoke, men who remind her of her ex-husband (lol), spicy food, housework, people who think selkies are such romantic creatures,

Personality (short): Merle is a pessimist who tries to love the world.

Personality(I can't cut it down...): She regards most strangers with a wariness, but she's polite enough, and she does enjoy the company of others, even though some find her to... dry to be around. She actually got a sense of humor, it's just kind of sarcastic/twisted and sometimes it can be hard to tell if she's actually joking. She isn't one to go wild (she find such stuff pointless) and she hasn't shown interest in love (something she categorizes as wild)... since the last time someone kind of burned her true skin and all that na~asty stuff....
Her personality tend to be a mess. She can feel human emotions, especially the dark ones. Sometimes her rotten more 'human' side shines greatly, other times her old selkie side is showing. Most of the time, it's just this muddy grey middle thing. She doesn't see whats wrong about lying a little ...
She hungers for information about the world, and it's what her pitiful life partly revolves around.

Talents: The fact that she is a selkie is what gives her supernatural powers. Because of that elemental water magic comes natural (even though she now dislike water). ah, a water using selkie who hates water, the irony <3

Lol, she also has a talent for housework, because she used to be a housewife. But she hates it now OTL.

Oh man, I'm so bad at writing strengths/weakness ;__;' geee...

Strengths: Her drive to learn new things(/everything), it takes much for her to lose her temper (she can bite back with words, but almost never reacts violently),
Weakness: Tend not to 'go for the gold', there are still many things she doesn't know about the world, she is not in her trueform

Specific skills you want to learn:
1. Elemental class – Improved control and development of her water elemental powers.
2. P.E class - learning how to survive while hiking/traveling etc, so mostly: athletic abilities (running, fighting, climbing shit, etc etc)

Describe the valuable object you offer the headmaster: The pouch which contains all the ashes left from the fire, that burned her selkie skin.

Why does you character want to seek help from the haven? You know how some people are on their quest to find their true self? Merle is like that too, only literally. She never found the last half of her selkie skin. That is her goal, and it's something she would do anything to find... evne go there. The haven might be a fishy and twisted place, but it is a place you can learn things, and magic and knowledge seems to mix...

Will you rp? just draw and share art of your /others chars? or perhaps both? Well, I've never really roleplayed before, only in my native language and that's such a long time ago. So I'm crazy shy about, but I kinda want to try eeeeeht. ;__; OTL. If I suck at it, it will just be super super super duper awkward!

would you wish to live alone or with a roommate?
Either is fine with me. Living with a roommate would be kinda nice though. It would force social interacting, which we all like <3</sub>
